Tips for Working From Home Moms

Tips for working from home moms

Because of the rapid spread of COVID-19, everyone is advised to stay and work from home. Most of the first-time remote workers are struggling to work from home, for instance, those with their kids. These few tips may help you cope with this new working environment.

CREATE A SCHEDULE

First tip for a working from home mom is to carefully plan or schedule your day

Wake up early so you could have the time to do most of your household chores, for example, preparing your breakfast while your kids are still sleeping. Plan your day and have a schedule. Make sure that you make the most out of your office hours and have breaks in between like spending time with your kids.

KEEP YOUR KIDS BUSY

It is important to keep your kids busy when you are working from home

Kids, especially toddlers, are demanding. Think of ways to keep them busy and occupied. Provide a safe space for them to play and enjoy. Give them educational toys or you can even let them watch TV shows once in a while.

STEAL TIME DURING NAP TIME

Take advantage of your kid's nap time when you are working from home

Take advantage of the time when your kids are having their nap time. Use this time to be productive with your work. This is the only time that you could surely focus, be able to finish your task or assignments without any interruption.

ASK FOR HELP

Tip from working from home mom, is to ask for help when in need

Don't be afraid to ask for help from your husband, parents or relatives, especially when you need to attend a meeting or having a deadline for your work. In my case, my husband and I are both working from home. If one of us is in a meeting, the other one should be the one to play or look after the kid.

  1. I always babysit my nieces and nephews but I feel so relieved when my siblings would pick them up after a long day. Parenting is not for the light-hearted. I hold working moms like you to the highest regard. I was raised by one too.

  2. These are great tips! Though I am not a mommy, I think one tip is to also let the children do house chores while having fun, of course for older children. I saw once in a tv epiode where the kids can get play money after doing chores :) It's a combination of both fun and learning :) (Jowell)

  4. I'm trying to manage my time kaso failed talaga especially dyan sa ASK FOR HELP, hindi uso dito sa Korea. Mom's here do all the work kaya super hirap unlike dyan sa atin we can ask a friend or a family member to take a look for our kids for a while kaso dito nakakahiyang utusan ung byenan ko haha.

  5. I would share this tips my colleague who is a WFH mom. She sometimes struggles on keeping her toddler busy. She definitely love this article. Being a WFH employee too, creating a schedule comes in handy. Our home is a stimulus for us to rest and relax, and having your schedule in good visuals will remind you for required productivity.

  6. Hindi lang for working moms ito, sakin din na hindi mom heheheh. I always plan my day to, a day ahead, meron akong bullet journal/planner. I would ask help since we also need to delegate some tasks but for now, wala, ninja moves muna ako. May limitations parin ang work from home sa ECQ eh.

  7. I've been working from home for more than two years now. I totally agree on your first point. I work 12nn-9pm so I make sure that I make a schedule for my morning errands. I'm not yet a mom so I don't have any problems with kids. What I do is, I give money to my siblings and they cook and clean for me. HAHAHA!

  8. I am enjoying working at home, and good thing the kids here at home are all grown-up and busy with their own things as well. One thing that kinda struggles me is how clingy my cat is. She hates me when I'm writing, just want all my attention to hers.

  11. Great tips Mommy. I work at home too and it is soo hard to work kapag gising si toddler. The only time I get to work is if he is sleeping or if his dad's here.

  13. This is true if you have toddlers. My boys still follow regular school schedule for their e-learning so I have ample time to do the things I need to do. I just need to cook more this time:-).
